Logan Baker, a lifelong Sevier County native, has officially announced his candidacy for Sevier County Clerk. Running as a conservative Republican, Baker is focused on restoring a servant-leadership approach and ensuring that every citizen is treated with respect, efficiency, and fairness.

For Baker, this campaign isn’t about politics—it’s about people. Known throughout the community for his work in business and service organizations, Baker has built a reputation for bringing people together, modernizing operations, and putting the needs of others first.

Baker is the Principal Strategist of Baker Wealth Strategies, where he helps families and small businesses build secure financial futures. He previously served as Director of Operations for Tri C, Inc., managing large-scale operations in accounting, human resources, customer service, and more. His experience in handling complex organizations has prepared him to serve the citizens of Sevier County with professionalism and care.

Just as important to Baker is his work in the nonprofit world. He currently serves as President & CEO of Carol’s Coalition, a nonprofit honoring his late mother’s legacy, and in leadership roles with organizations including MEDIC Regional Blood Center, Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Covenant Health Philanthropy.

“Sevier County has always been home for me, and I’ve seen firsthand the difference it makes when leaders approach their work with a servant’s heart,” Baker said. “The County Clerk’s office should be a place where every citizen feels valued—whether you’re renewing a tag, registering a title, or handling important documents. I want to ensure our office is modern, efficient, and always respectful of the people we serve.”

Baker emphasized his priorities for the office:

  • Extending service hours to better accommodate working families.

  • Bringing services closer to citizens across the county.

  • Modernizing operations to improve speed and convenience.

  • Always accepting cash, recognizing it remains the most accessible form of payment for many citizens.

  • Putting respect first, treating every citizen like a neighbor, not a number.

“As a conservative Republican, I believe public office is about service, not status,” Baker added. “The people of Sevier County deserve leadership that understands that truth. I’m ready to work hard for every citizen and ensure the Clerk’s office is one they can be proud of.”

Baker is a graduate of East Tennessee State University, holding both a Bachelor of Business Management and a Master of Business Administration. He is active in his faith, regularly serving at Pathways Church, Connect Church, and Richardson’s Cove Baptist.

Deeply rooted in Sevier County, Baker is the son of Johnny Baker and his late wife, Debbie McClure Baker, as well as the late Carol Collier Cole and her husband, Greg Cole. His family’s legacy of hard work, faith, and service continues to inspire his commitment to giving back to the place he has always called home.

The campaign treasurer will be Lisa McGill Reagan. The Republican Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 5.
