Sevierville, TN — The Logan Baker for Sevier County Clerk campaign is proud to announce the endorsement of Knox County Court Clerk Mike Hammond, a respected public servant with decades of leadership experience in East Tennessee.

Hammond currently serves as the elected Court Clerk for Knox County, overseeing a large and complex office responsible for court records, financial transactions, and customer service operations that impact thousands of residents. Prior to his role as Court Clerk, Hammond served multiple terms as a Knox County Commissioner, where he played a key role in budgeting, policy decisions, and long-term planning for one of Tennessee’s largest counties. His career has been defined by a commitment to efficient government, fiscal responsibility, and strong constituent service.

In announcing his endorsement, Hammond shared:

“I have known Logan Baker for over ten years and have worked with him on several projects benefiting Sevier County. Several things impress me about Logan — his passion for his home, his desire to help people, as well as his get-it-done attitude. Logan understands customer service. The County Clerk is an office that touches almost everyone in Sevier County. His desire to open more offices, provide exceptional service to all who come to the office, and increase training for the staff will serve Sevier County for years to come. The County Clerk’s office is a multi-million-dollar-a-year business, and Logan has the business mind and acumen to ensure efficiency and productivity. A vote for Logan is a vote for the future of Sevier County.”

Baker said he is honored to receive Hammond’s endorsement, noting the importance of leadership from those who understand the inner workings of county government.

“Mike Hammond has spent years serving the people of Knox County with integrity, professionalism, and a deep understanding of how to operate an office that serves the public every single day,” Baker said. “To have the support of someone who has managed both the policy side as a County Commissioner and the operational side as a Court Clerk means a great deal to me.”

Baker’s campaign for Sevier County Clerk is centered on improving access, strengthening customer service, and modernizing operations. His plan includes expanded office hours, additional full-service locations across the county, enhanced staff training, and upgraded technology systems to better serve residents.

“As County Clerk, this office belongs to the people,” Baker added. “My goal is simple: to make it easier, more efficient, and more welcoming for every neighbor we serve.”
